Our background

Built on years of supporting foreign companies in Korea

Korea Agent Direct is a specialist service brand operated by KOISRA Co., Ltd. KOISRA is the Korean operating and contracting entity behind the service.

KOISRA was established in Seoul in 2009 to help foreign companies understand the Korean market, build local relationships and manage business activities in South Korea. Since then, our team has supported startups, multinational and public companies, government organizations and other international clients across many stages of their Korean activity.

Our work has included market entry, business development, local representation, regulatory coordination, company setup and practical operating support. This broad experience matters because a domestic-representative issue rarely exists in isolation. It may involve the company’s legal, compliance, privacy, technical, product, customer-service, finance or management teams at the same time.

Korea Agent Direct applies this wider Korea-market experience to a focused representative service. We provide a reliable Korean point of operation while helping the foreign company understand what is happening, who needs to act and what should happen next.

One specialist brand. One established Korean operator.

Korea Agent Direct is not a separate incorporated entity. The service is operated by KOISRA Co., Ltd., which reviews each engagement, signs the service agreement and accepts the appointment only after eligibility, scope, conflict, capacity and due-diligence checks are completed.

Why our experience matters

Local knowledge with an international client perspective

Our role is not only to receive correspondence in Korea. It is to help the right people understand it, respond through an agreed process and keep the appointment operating properly.

01

We understand Korea

Our Seoul-based team works within the Korean business and administrative environment. We understand the importance of local language, context, timing, documentation and communication with Korean organizations and authorities.

02

We understand foreign companies

International teams need more than a forwarded Korean message. They need a clear explanation, the relevant background, the decision required, the deadline and the practical next step.

03

We understand business operations

Our experience extends beyond one regulation or filing. We understand how compliance questions connect with products, customers, contracts, technology, corporate structure and day-to-day business decisions.

04

We communicate clearly

We connect Korean-side requirements with the client’s legal, compliance, privacy, technical and management teams through clear English communication, defined contacts and agreed approval procedures.

05

We work with Korean regulators

Communication with Korean ministries, commissions and public authorities is part of our day-to-day work. We understand how to prepare questions, follow official procedures, coordinate submissions and explain the outcome clearly to an overseas client.

06

We have direct representative experience

KOISRA already represents foreign companies under several Korean local-agent and domestic-representative requirements. This gives Korea Agent Direct direct experience with formal appointments, regulator communication, client escalation, recordkeeping and the ongoing operation of the representative role.

Representative services

A dependable Korean contact backed by a professional team

A domestic representative should be able to do more than provide a name and address. The role requires attention, judgment, communication and reliable follow-through.

Depending on the applicable law and agreed scope, Korea Agent Direct may receive official communications, coordinate regulator contact, support appointment filings, route customer or data-subject matters, coordinate approved submissions, track deadlines and maintain relevant records.

Our team first identifies what the communication is about and which client function should handle it. We then provide the necessary context, escalate it to the approved contact and coordinate the next step within the authority granted to us.

This approach helps international compliance teams maintain control of substantive decisions while benefiting from an experienced Korean operating point that understands both the local environment and the client’s internal needs.

Korea-side coordination

Local action with clear procedures

We maintain the agreed Korean contact channels, manage covered communications and coordinate filings, disclosures or authority contact where included in the appointment.

Client-side control

The right people remain in charge

The foreign company remains responsible for its legal, technical, commercial and operational decisions, while Korea Agent Direct manages the agreed Korean coordination, communication and follow-up.

The wider KOISRA platform

Experience across the full life of a Korean operation

Korea Agent Direct focuses on domestic-representative services, while the wider KOISRA group supports foreign companies across many other aspects of entering, developing and operating in South Korea.

KOISRA’s work includes market-entry and business-development support, local representation, partner and supplier development, market research and regulatory coordination. KOISRA UP provides operational services such as company establishment, corporate administration, accounting, payroll, HR support, local office solutions, document services and other practical assistance.

KOBDi, also developed and operated within KOISRA, is a Korean business-data and intelligence platform supporting company verification, due diligence, ownership review, industry research and risk assessment. It reflects the data-driven research capability available across the wider KOISRA organization.

These wider capabilities are not automatically included in a Korea Agent Direct appointment. They do, however, give our team a broader understanding of the companies, corporate relationships and operating issues involved, and allow separately agreed support to be coordinated when needed.
